When was the last time you went to develop your photos? If you are younger than 20 years old, probably the answer is “never.”
Digital cameras and mobile phones gave us the freedom to take unlimited pictures without worrying to store them. Nowadays, even for the simplest picture, we take multiple shots to make sure that we have the best one.
Even though current technology gives us convenience and flexibility, this comfort also causes us to lose the value of each shot that we had before. Getting the developed pictures from the printing shop without knowing how we look in them was total excitement. Furthermore, we were keeping all the pictures in photo albums and we were looking at them over and over again with friends and families.
If you are one of those few people who continue to keep pictures in photo albums and who enjoy giving them to others as a present,
Canon SELPHY CP1300 is the perfect solution for you. It is stylish, portable, and wireless!
There is nothing extra in the box. Sadly, a full set of paper and ink is not included. Along with manuals, a power adapter, and the printer itself; SELPHY CP1300 comes with a 5-sheet paper and matching amount of ink sample pack. So, you need to buy an additional sheet and ink cartridge set to continue printing. There are several options with different sizes and sheet amounts in the market. I prefer the Canon RP-108 postcard size color ink and paper set.
Ink and Paper Sets
SELPHY CP1300 is a 4 pass CMYK photo printer. CMYK refers to the four colors: cyan, magenta, yellow, and key (black). Unlike an inkjet printer, CP1300 pulls in and ejects the paper 4 times, applying a separate color (yellow, magenta, cyan respectively) and a protective coating each time.
Ink and paper sets include one or more cartridges and a bunch of sheets depending on the product you choose. I use a Canon RP-108 which comes with 2 cartridges and 108 sheets of 100x148mm size.
The good thing is you do not need to keep track of your ink level. Each set comes with sheets and matching amounts of ink cartridges. But generally, you may expect to get a few extra printouts with each cartridge.
Print from Everywhere
One of the advantages of this photo printer is flexibility. You can connect CP1300 to your Wi-Fi network and print from your phone, tablet, and computer. A direct wireless connection with the printer also is possible if there is no available Wi-Fi network around you. It also has an SD card slot and a USB port for direct printing from memory devices. So, with this printer connectivity is not a problem.
SELPHY CP1300 has a variety of printing options. Along with regular 4 x 6 in photos, you can choose from different layouts and shuffle options as well. It is even possible to print photo-booth strips and ID photos.
If you need more developed designs, of course, you should use photo editing software but for most of your needs, the printer would be enough.
